A Moment in Time - Exhibition

Next date: Monday, November 02, 2026 | 10:00 PM to Friday, November 27, 2026 | 05:00 PM

Local artist Nicky Jenkins presents her first solo exhibition, featuring realistic artwork in oil paint, graphite and charcoal.

Drawn to animals, people, nature and everyday things, Nicky's work explores the beauty found in the details we might otherwise overlook. She's particularly drawn to the way light falls across a subject, capturing its glow, depth and subtle changes.

For Nicky, making art is about more than creating a realistic image. It's an opportunity to slow down, quieten the mind and reconnect with the world around her.

Alongside the finished artworks, explore cabinets of sketches, experiments and works in different mediums that offer a glimpse into Nicky's creative process and journey as an artist.

Through this collection, she invites visitors to pause, look a little longer and discover the beauty in ordinary things.

Nicky will be spending Fridays in the space, working on her art projects. Feel free to stop by, have a look around and say hello.

The exhibition is on display at Te Takeretanga o Kura-hau-pō until 27 November.
